Cleansing The Body

 Cleansing the Body

We have 37 trillion cells in our body and each one of them creates metabolic waste as it functions. When this cellular waste builds up in your system you will start to feel tired after a full night’s rest, you will have afternoon crashes, headaches, unexplained weight gain and trouble finding the energy to exercise. These are all tell-tale signs that the elimination routes in your body are congested and need a good cleaning. This is the easiest way to stay healthy and prevent illness and disease. Not only do our cells create waste but the environment around us is constantly eliminating waste that we are exposed to and absorb into our cells every day. Eliminating cellular waste and accumulated environmental toxins can make you feel lighter, stronger and clear minded.

Cleansing the body on a regular basis is imperative to optimal health currently with all the environmental pollutants we are surrounded with, microwaves, cell phone towers, Wi-Fi boxes in our homes, showering in chlorine and fluorinated water, cleaning chemicals we may be exposed to, GMO and processed foods, crops watered with tap water (even sometimes organic crops), mold and mildew in our workplace. If we are taking in 500,000 toxins a day and are only able to rid our body of 250,000 then we are still left with 250,000 toxins that are stored in our body daily.

We must find a safe natural way of eliminating these extra toxins and the best way to do that is to do a full body cleanse over several months and then keep your intestines clean on a weekly basis using a safe oxygenated colon cleanse.  Studies have shown that 90% of disease is linked to an unhealthy colon due to stress, bad eating habits, use of antibiotics, overload of toxins, poor lifestyle choices and hormonal imbalances. The intestines are our main source of elimination; the intestines are about 35 feet long (the length of a tennis court) and these extra toxins harden and stick to the walls of our intestinal lining. When this occurs, we are unable to absorb the nutrients we eat or the supplements we take.

The number of Toxins we intake daily is a lot more than we think. The body may only be able to naturally eliminate 100,000 per day and that’s if you are leading a healthy lifestyle, your organs are functioning properly and you exercise and sweat heavily every day.

All the common herbal colon cleanses, psyllium husk, herbal teas, colonics and enemas are only loosening up and moving the fresh soft waste in the colon and it is very harsh to your intestines, forcefully moving waste out and can cause micro-tears and injure the walls of the intestines while barely scraping away at the hardened waste stuck to your intestinal lining. An oxygen-based cleanser will activate when it enters the intestines, it will bubble up much like hydrogen peroxide does and it will turn this hardened waste into a liquid or gas so it can safely be removed out of our system. The original formula for Dr. Groups oxy-powder was created by Nikola Tesla and Dr. Eugene Blass, oxy-powder uses monatomic oxygen to promote colon health and normal bowel activity acting like a scrubbing bubbles for the intestines eating away at the hardened mucus/plaque and allowing your body to once again absorbed all the nutrients you consume. Accumulated waste slows digestion and your metabolism. As you go through these cleanses your body will replace toxins with beneficial, intestinal flora, you will have eliminated sludge and stones from your gallbladder and liver, your kidneys will become free-flowing and functioning again. Once you reach this point your body will be prepared to eliminate harmful organisms, chemicals, heavy metals and other toxic buildup left in your system.

The organs should always be cleansed in the correct order as to not put a unnecessarry strain on them. You don’t want to cleanse the kidneys if your colon is clogged up. It’s always best to start with the colon, I have done Dr. Groups full body cleanse several times with maintenance cleanses in between. The full body cleanse starts with the colon cleanse for 6 days right into liver/gallbladder for 5 days (still cleansing colon during this time), 7 days of rest to let the body heal, another 5-day liver/gallbladder cleanse (cleansing the colon during this time) with 7 days of rest to follow, kidney cleanse for 4 days right into a 6 week Parasite cleanse (the life of a parasite) followed by another liver/gallbladder cleanse for 5 days with 7 days of rest ending with a 30 day heavy metal cleanse. I also did weekly coffee enemas (rapid detox of the liver) and castor oil lung packs to cleanse my lungs during this 97-day process.  Weekly massages and exercise followed by the sauna for 20minutes or longer, Russian Baths and heated Vinyasa flow yoga are always great ways to naturally detox and can still be done during your full body cleanse, resting when the body needs rest is always important.

The first time I completed the 9-step full body cleanse was a journey and it wasn’t always easy, I had days where I cheated on the meal plan, I had organic wine and animal protein on the weeks in between, but I refused to feel guilty about any of it. I’m human and I have to except that I am not perfect. Cleanses can be a challenge and if you don’t follow the directions and mess up, that’s fine just get back on track and finish the protocol to the best of your ability. I have continued to cleanse out my body on a regular basis using Dr. Groups cleansing products since they are the best I have come across. The instructions were easy often with several choices on how you can fit them into your lifestyle and schedule. If you must take more than the recommended 7 days off in between cleanses, go ahead and do that. Keep your balance, take your time just make sure you do them in order so your organs are clean and working properly before you do the long cleanses like harmful organisms, chemicals and toxic metals, you do not want to overwork your organs.

I try to live/eat a plant-based whole food diet as best I can, keeping my sugars, carbs low. I still eat clean, pasture-raised animal protein but I keep my portions small and go weeks at a time without meat, this is what works best for me, I have no cravings and never feel like I’m on a “diet” it just the way I choose to eat. I have tons of energy, I lose weight, I can maintain my weight without effort, I stay focused and alert and sleep well when I eat meals high in healthy fats and keep my sugars and carbohydrates low. I started practicing time-restricted eating, intermittent fasting and water fasting a couple years ago. This is no one size fits all way of eating everyone is unique, you just have to find what works best for you.

Fasting has long been a religious practice for many cultures as a way of atonement or to get closer to God, nature or a higher being. When we allow ourselves to get hungry BDNF proteins (brain-derived neuropathic factor) are produced in our brain, stimulating the growth of new brain cells and healthy gut bacteria has a chance to flourish. You can start with time-restricted eating, meaning you eat all your calories in 9-12 hours. The clock starts when you ingest anything besides water, black coffee, liquid vitamins, herbal tea all count. Anything besides water has a hormetic effect in the body and technically breaks your fast. Then move into intermittent fasting, starting with fasting for 16 to 18 hours (stop eating after dinner and have your next meal the following afternoon) at a time and work your way up to three days of water fasting. It is imperative that your first meal after a 16 to 18 hour fast is high in natural fats (avocado, raw nut and seeds, coconut oil, MCT oil) this way your body is taught to get its energy from fat and not sugar or carbohydrates. It is essential to your health that you drink plenty of water during this time, it is a positive stressor on your body and instantly activates life-altering genes. After a long water fast it is wise to start with vegetable broth or fresh pressed juices followed by soft foods like avocados before eating solid foods again.

“Keto Diet” has become all the rage and I see so many people going about it like the Atkins diet (eating tons of cheese and bad fats like bacon and lunch meats and other processed meats), and those of us old enough to remember the Atkins diet remember it didn’t turn out so well for those that stayed on it for long periods of time. I suggest listening to or reading Dr. Perlmutter, Board Certified Neurologist and author of Grain Brain and Brain Maker. These books will guide you to the healthier version of the Ketogenic lifestyle.

“By cleansing your body on a regular basis and eliminating as many toxins as possible from your environment, your body can begin to heal itself, prevent disease and become stronger and more resilient than you ever dreamed possible”                                         ~Dr. Edward Group, DC, NP, DACBN, DCBCN, DABFM
