Endocannabinoid System
The truth is, we all have what is known as an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) located within the bodies of all mammals, animals and humans alike – a key homeostatic regulator in the body. This complex signaling network plays a role in almost every physiological system throughout the body of all mammals. This system is a biological network of receptors which help regulate numerous functions in the body such as sleep, mood, pain and inflammation. This is why Quality CBD and THC products work so well for such a wide variety of ailments, conditions and diseases.
The body produces its own cannabinoids called endogenous cannabinoids or endocannabinoids. The first known endocannabinoid discovered was Anandamide, which is named after the Sanskrit word ananda meaning “bliss or supreme joy”.
For a long period of time it was overlooked as a possible therapeutic target, particularly because there was not much known about disease implications of the system. Like other systems within our bodies, our endocannabinoid system can become depleted and need ‘supplementation’, as would a Magnesium or Vitamin B-12 deficiency.
The History
It all started in 1964 when scientist Raphael Mechoulam was able to identify & isolate Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for the first time which not long after was followed by the discovery of CBD – the second most prominent Cannabinoid found in the Cannabis Genus of plants. Being able to isolate these cannabinoids was just the beginning of what science would discover concerning the link between the cannabis, the hemp plant, marijuana and the human body.
Much research was being done on this plant and the active molecules discovered. However, it was not until 1988 when the first cannabinoid receptors were found in the brain of rat by Allyn Howlett & William Devane and it turned out that there was an abundance of these receptors; it appeared that there were more than any other neurotransmitter receptor. This cannabinoid receptor was then called CB1 Receptors, the existence of this indicated that there was a substance within our bodies that attached to that receptor site.
In 1993 a second cannabinoid receptor was located and obviously named CB2 Receptors. These CB2 Receptors were found, in abundance, in the gut, spleen, heart, liver, bones, blood vessels, lymph cells & the reproductive organs. The cloning of this receptor site, CB2, led to the discovery of 2-AG (2-arachidonoyl-glycerol), another endocannabinoid.
The cannabinoid receptor sites are located on the cell surfaces throughout the human body. CB1 receptors are concentrated in the central nervous system and the brain. CB2 receptors are concentrated in the peripheral organs and the immune system.
These discoveries paved the way to understanding the metabolic pathways of THC which further allows scientists to discover the ECS, a molecular signaling system that resides within us and thousands of other life forms; excluding insects. The endocannabinoid system is responsible for maintaining homeostasis within our bodies.
In recent years the use of medicinal cannabis and hemp products, is the reason for so many incredible success stories from people suffering from a variety of conditions and illnesses. Particularly when using a combination supplement made of cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), causing many medical scientists to shift their focus onto the endocannabinoid system.
“More conclusive evidence is coming to light supporting the theory of clinical endocannabinoid deficiency poisted by Dr Ethan Russo, particularly for disease such as migraine, fibromyalgia, and irritable bowel syndrome. Given the large number of diseases which have shown endocannabinoid abnormalities such as epilepsy, cancer and a wide array of neurodegenerative diseases: it is an area which will undoubtedly be explored further in the future.”

My Experience
I was introduced to a Raw hemp oil from the Netherlands which has a CBD/CBDa combination in the beginning of last year. I worked on a pharmacologist that was in town to open up a pharmacy for specialized medicine. He told me a story about meeting the man that represented the US at the Global Symposium for pain management. This man was excited about CBD and specifically a product from the Netherlands that could change the face of pain management as we know it today. The pharmacologist proceeded to tell me how his business partner’s wife suffered from MS and was not able to get out of bed. She started taking this CBD/CBDa combination and within two weeks she was back to work three days a week and had her symptoms under control. I thought, why not give it a try and see how it works. Myself and many of my clients have tried numerous CBD oils, extracts, salves and lotions over the last 8 years. I started telling everyone about this new discovery of mine and many of my clients, friends and co-workers wanted to try it. I had them report back to me how they were feeling throughout the first month of using it.
The results were inspiring to say the least. I didn’t really have any aches or pains but I decided to buy a few bottle and try it out for a few months to see if a healthy person could also get benefits from CBD. I have tried many in the past and felt little effects from them. I am excited to say that Endoca has changed my life. I am able to sleep for 6 hours straight before waking up to use the bathroom (every 2 to 3 hours is normal for me) and I am able to deal with stressful situations in a calm level headed manner. I work in silence for most of my day and tend to overthink things to the point it gives me a slight feeling of anxiety or when confrontation of any kind arises I would think about every possible scenario over and over in my head and now I am able to stop this unhealthy train of thought as soon as it starts. I am able to have more control over the irrational side of my brain and keep a calm clear mind. I will discuss the ingredients and the unique benefits of each in future blogs.
